Fr. Arnold entered the seminary at the early age of 12 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary, in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines, where he finished High School and his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Sacred Theology at the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, Manila. He also took some masteral courses in Oriental Religion in the same university. He was ordained to the priesthood on June 7, 1986. After ordination, he was assigned as a formator, professor and music director of the same seminary where he started his vocation.
While pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Music at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City, he continued his priestly ministry as an assisting priest in residence at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Quezon City. Upon graduation, he went back to teach in the seminary and also served as Chairman of the Commission on Music for the Diocese of Tagbilaran.
Pursuing his master’s degree in Liturgical Music in Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA, he also served as assisting priest in residence at Our Lady of Mercy, Daly City and also at St. Mark’s, Belmont, CA.
In 2004, he was appointed Parochial Vicar of Star of the Sea Parish, San Francisco, In 2007, he was assigned Parochial Vicar of St Brendan Church, San Francisco, He also serves as Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor for the Philippine Consulate General/The Philippine Center, San Francisco.
